Intermatic IG1240RC3 Whole House Protection Device
Intermatic IG1240RC3 Whole House Protection Device :Intermatic Smart Guard provides coverage for your client's large investments in equipment, from appliances and computers to air conditioning systems and televisions. This innovative SPD uses IMODULE with LED lights to quickly and easily indicate when protection is at risk.
A blue light indicates that the SPD is powered on and a green light means that the overvoltage protection is active. TPMOV ® surge protection technologReliable and modern (thermally protected metal oxide varistor) eliminates the potentially dangerous and commonly associated failure modes of standard MOV technology.
Type 1 : Applications include outdoor installations before electrical service entrances and meter rooms for such services.
Type 2 : Applications include installations after service entrances. UL Certified for ANSI / UL 1449 Fourth Edition.

American consumers spend billions annually on household appliances
smart, refrigerated with touch screens, computerized washers, dryers,
stoves and air conditioning equipment. According to an analyst at the research company IHS,
Americans purchased approximately 276,000 grid-connected appliances in 2014. It is expected that
this number increases exponentially to about 24 million by 2020 in the United States and more than 470 million in
all the world.
Today's expensive and sophisticated appliances and electronic devices need protection against
overvoltages.
As the electronic devices we rely on for home and business get "smarter", their
components become more expensive to replace. Damage caused by surges is usually not
covered by extended or manufacturer's warranties. Also, 84% of homeowners consider multiple plugs
they provide adequate protection for computers, HDTV and other electronic components.
Only 20% of these same owners understand that multiple plugs deteriorate over time,
rendering them unable to provide surge protection.
Consumers may not realize that thousands of dollars invested in the kitchen, laundry room, garage, and special lighting can be protected with
surge protection devices (SDPs) that are warranted for both
the product as the connected equipment.
Intermatic has provided protection to electrical equipment for over 20 years. Our approach is based on the third
edition of the ANSI / UL1449 standard. First, a Type 1 SPD is installed on the line side of the main service panel. This
protects the entire electrical system of the residence or business. Then a type 2 SPD on the charging side of the service panel
activates secondary overvoltage protection against internal or transient overvoltage sources. Finally, the
Sensitive electronic devices are protected against internal surges thanks to protective devices.
Use point overvoltage.
- Intermatic SPDs offer the best capabilities in the industry and surge protection technology
- last generation.
- The devices are designed with TPMOV® surge protection technology (varistor
- Reliable and modern thermally protected metal oxide) that eliminates potentially dangerous failure modes
- They are commonly associated with standard MOV surge protection technology.
